The position requires candidates with a working knowledge of C, C++, C#, Perl, PHP, and Java as well as an understanding of applications programming from design to operational implementation.

Required Skills and Responsibilities

• Implement application designs in cooperation with development team.

IT

ZedX, Inc. is seeking mature, experienced individuals who are responsible, conscientious, self-motivated, creative, and exhibit a strong work ethic. Qualified individuals will be hired as part of a systems team that supports ZedX's meteorological, agricultural, and environmental web-based services, numerical modeling, and corporate computing infrastructures.

The position requires candidates to administer multiple networks and networking devices, which include: switches, routers and firewalls. Knowledge of Linux server platforms is required. The candidate will oversee local and remote network operations that support workstation, production, development and corporate environments, including web servers, database and research computation.

Required Skills and Responsibilities

• Maintenance of the networking infrastructure and cabling.
• Configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of Cisco firewalls and routers.
• Configuration of various switches that includes VLAN's, maintenance, and upgrades
• Install, upgrade and apply patches for CentOS and Red Hat Linux servers.
• Knowledge of virtualization environments utilizing VMware recommended.
• Familiarity with various backup methodologies, processes and strategies.
• Administer and manage infrastructure applications such as, e-mail, virus protection, DNS, DHCP or other basic network and systems services.
• Monitor and evaluate network capacity and operations to ensure optimal system performance.
• Strong understanding of computer and network security.
• Must be highly organized, self-motivated and have the ability to take ownership of specific projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, teamwork, and user interaction skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Must be eligible for medium-level federal government security clearance.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Associate's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering network switches, firewalls, and routers.
• Working knowledge of RPM based Linux.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
• Must be able to communicate by voice and ear over telephone.

• Must be located within an hour drive of the corporate offices in Bellefonte, PA for occasional after hours onsite response.
